Mobile Health and Wellness Community Project Assistant (Restricted)

Position Responsibilities:
VCU School of Nursing invites applicants to apply for the position of Mobile Health and Wellness Community Project Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and setting up a mobile tent at our community sites and engaging with community partners to deliver services and information to clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive the mobile van to each site four days a week with one day a week devoted to in-office team planning meetings
- Assist with setting up a mobile tent at community sites
- Responsible for organizing and transporting supplies to sites and program set-up at the sites
- Assist with scheduling wellness appointments
- Engage with community partners to deliver services and information to clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, community partners, and students
- Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities
- Attend meetings with community partners and participate in administrative tasks as required
- Collect and process data collected from program participants using the RedCap Database
- Educate the community about available services and resources
- Provide support to the program coordinator and faculty at the mobile sites
- Provide support to underserved populations in need of assistance
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to drive and park a large vehicle
- Basic knowledge of tent set-up and maintenance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Able to lift 75 lbs
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task efficiently, and use sound judgment
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in community engagement with underserved populations
- Knowledge of local community resources and services
- Experience with event planning and coordination
- Possess bilingual capabilities in both Spanish and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Strong ability to work in team settings

This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000
