Job Description Summary:
Full responsibility to organize and execute events for a department or program, to include all required steps from beginning to end. This would include the physical or virtual set-up as well as all communications to stakeholders regarding the event.

Required Qualifications

Education: Associate degree. A combination of education and related work experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Work Experience:
  • At least one year of relevant work experience
  • Strong communication as evidenced by application materials.
  • Previous customer service experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience:
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Access or other database programs.
  • Experience with social media tools

Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizational and coordination skills.
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently.
  • Ability to exercise discretion.


Job Duties Outlined
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Spencer Center
  • Schedule rooms for events
  • Ensure space is set up and organized for special events and reassembled
  • Connect constituents of the multi-faith space with resources and community
  • Coordinate operational tasks necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Center
  • Organize liturgical, artifacts, art exhibits, and sacred and ceremonial objects for events held at the Center and on behalf of ODEI
  • Collaborate with ODEI Program Manager on program planning and logistics, including but not limited to arranging for subject matter experts to attend and present for events
  • Assist with managing and tracking usage and engagement and submitting findings or reports
  • Posting to all social media outlets, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, and Instagram with event flyers, live updates from events and programs occurring on campus, within community, and a variety of DEI related facts or interesting posts
  • Creating content for the ODEI newsletter
  • Ensuring deadlines are met for completion and delivery
  • Work some evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
