Opportunity to accrue hours for clinical licensure and gain experience utilizing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). TF-CBT is a short-term, evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. As part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of Esther Deblinger, Ph.D., co-developer of TF-CBT, responsibilities include conducting assessments of children who have experienced maltreatment and providing therapy to children and families impacted by child sexual abuse, physical abuse, and other traumas. Services may be provided in-person and/or by telehealth. Didactics on various topics related to childhood trauma as well as formal training and supervision in TF-CBT provided. Full-time one-year positions with an option for additional years are available for qualified candidates interested in this specialized training opportunity.
Qualified candidates include those interested in providing evidenced-based treatment to children and adolescents impacted by adverse childhood experiences. Licensure in the State of New Jersey by the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners or the State Board of Social Work Examiners (LAC/LSW) is required. The ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred but not required. Record of respect and openness towards people whose social and cultural background is different from one's own is required. Travel between the two CARES sites (Vineland and Stratford) as well as to CP&P offices may be required. Evening hours are required two days per week.
