Sales & Business Development Manager
Alar Water Treatment, an Ovivo Company, is seeking an experienced business manager to advance industrial capital equipment sales in a highly developed market.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful business leader who works within a cross-functional team. An integrator who sees the big picture as well as the details, who can “connect the dots” in evaluating, designing, selling, and servicing a complete industrial water treatment solution.
Our company provides in-house training and development; experience with industrial water or wastewater systems is preferred but not mandatory. We favor those that can demonstrate their organizational capabilities and solution-orientated sales attributes.
Alar is an active, in-office workplace where you will collaborate daily with a diverse group of interdepartmental employees, sales reps, project managers, EHS firms, and buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply value-based sales strategies to sell integrated industrial wastewater equipment solutions
- Expand market opportunities and improve profitability by calling on existing and prospective buyers
- Maintain sales database – record all sales activity and relevant information into CRM
- Review and design equipment concepts with project engineers, sales reps, and EHS firms
- Create budgetary capital and consumable cost estimates | Write and follow-up on proposals
- Lead all proposal development activities from quote-to-cash
- Deliver quarterly and annual capital sales/ booking forecasts
- Prepare sales and company slide presentations
- Visit customer facilities for site evaluations, meetings, equipment demonstrations
- Attend and/or participate in trade shows, corporate meetings, seminars, and educational courses
- Travel (typically within North America): Approximately 10 - 20% per year
- When not traveling: 90% work-in-office and 10% remote/ work-from-home
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a stable 4+ year work history in business/ sales management
- Robust two-way communication skills (verbal and writing) across all levels of an organization
- Versatile in adapting sales approach and messaging to reach a wide range of decision makers
- Pursues sales goals in a direct but nonaggressive way
- Superior sense of a buyer’s economic and value drivers as well as current business environments
- Capable of managing numerous multifaceted projects and complex sales
- Adept in Microsoft Office/365 apps and CRM software systems
- Able to grasp common mechanical, logical, and chemical principles
- Proficient in basic mathematics
- Fluent in English at an advanced level
- Physical Requirements: Talking, hearing, walking, sitting, hand/ finger use, reaching, and standing.
Climb ladders, stairs, and catwalks. Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. – occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Vision: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
